Client Requirements

The windows in this Palm City home operate with cranks and handles that project into the room. A flush-fitted shutter would have trapped the hardware behind the panel, leaving the owners unable to open their own windows - a common reason people are told their windows are not suitable for plantation shutters.

What We Did?

We mapped the position of every crank and handle at the measure, then built localised cutouts into the shutter frames and panels so the hardware stays reachable and the windows still open normally. The cutouts are shaped to the specific hardware rather than left as a generic gap, so they read as part of the millwork. Wide four-panel groups, bedroom and corner living-room windows were all built to match. Real wood, made and fitted by our own team in Palm City.
