Client Requirements

These photos show AP Shutters installations in Jensen Beach homes. Together they cover the openings we see most often in Jensen Beach: wide living-room windows, tall bedroom windows, a full-height glass opening, a kitchen window above the sink and a picture window that looks out over a golf course.

Each home had the same basic request: privacy and light control in every room, without hiding the view or the window trim.

  • Divide wide windows into panels that are easy to open
  • Fit tall windows inside their existing casing
  • Cover a full-height glass opening with panels that fold out of the way
  • Keep the kitchen window over the sink easy to reach
  • Leave the view open when the louvers are tilted

‍

What We Did?

Wide windows split into working panels

In the living room, the wide window is divided into three sections, and each section has a divider rail. The top and bottom louvers tilt separately, so the owners can keep the lower half closed for privacy and the upper half open for daylight. The tall windows on the side walls use the same layout, so the room looks like one design.

Tall windows inside picture-frame casing

The three tall bedroom windows each have their own shutter set inside the existing casing. The trim stays visible around every window, and the louvers line up from one window to the next. Built to each opening's own measurements, the frames sit evenly inside the casing.

A full-height glass opening that folds open

One sitting room has glass that runs almost to the floor. Four panels cover it, hinged so they fold back in pairs. Closed, the panels give the room privacy; folded, they leave the glass clear.

The kitchen window over the sink

A wide window above a farmhouse sink received a four-panel shutter with large louvers. A tilt is all it takes to change the light, so there is no cord to reach over the sink for, and the panels fold back when the window needs cleaning.

Keeping the view

Many Jensen Beach homes face a golf course, a lake or a preserve. With the louvers tilted open, the four-panel picture window in the last photo shows the view across the course. Closed, the same shutters block the afternoon sun.

Planning notes for Jensen Beach homes

  • Count the panels on wide windows. More panels fold back narrower; fewer panels show fewer seams.
  • Ask about divider rails on tall windows, so the top and bottom can tilt separately.
  • Check the casing. If it is in good condition, the shutters can sit inside it.
  • For windows over a sink, check the faucet height and how the panels will open.

Questions Jensen Beach homeowners ask

Do shutters block the view? Not when the louvers are open. Tilted open, the louvers let you look out, as in the golf-view photo; closed, they give privacy.

Can a kitchen window over the sink have shutters? Yes. A window that stays dry is a normal place for painted shutters. Plan the panel layout around the faucet.

Do you install in Jensen Beach? Yes. We build the shutters in Palm City and measure and install them in Jensen Beach ourselves.
