Hand-built in our Palm City factory and installed by our own team, for the waterfront estates and quiet golf-community homes that give Tequesta its character. Real basswood, made minutes from your door.
Tucked along the wild and scenic Loxahatchee River at the northern tip of Palm Beach County, Tequesta has kept the quiet, unpretentious character it was founded on in 1957, when the Village grew up around the Tequesta Country Club. From riverfront estates on Turtle Creek and Riverbend to the gated lakefront homes of Heritage Oaks, the architecture here rewards window treatments that are made to measure, not pulled off a shelf.
That is exactly what we have done since 1991. Architectural Plantation Shutters builds every shutter by hand in our own Palm City factory, a short drive up the coast, from solid North American basswood. Nothing is imported, resold, or made from vinyl or composite. Our team measures your windows, mills the shutters to fit, and installs them ourselves, so the people who built your shutters are the same people standing in your home.
Whether you are finishing a new build near Tequesta Pines, refreshing a condo overlooking the Intracoastal at Sandpointe Bay, or fitting the tall arched windows of a custom riverfront home, we make real-wood plantation shutters that suit the light, the views, and the pace of life that makes Tequesta a hidden gem on the Treasure Coast.
Tequesta homes are full of the windows that cheaper shutters cannot handle, soaring transoms, arches, bay windows, and floor-to-ceiling glass facing the river. Because we mill in our own factory, we build to those shapes instead of forcing a stock size.
The Village's original golf community and the heart of Tequesta since 1957.
Riverfront living along the Loxahatchee with championship golf at its center.
A gated community on the river, framed by a Fazio-designed course.
Gated, waterfront estate homes with lakefront views and half-acre lots.
Quiet, established streets surrounded by Tequesta's natural greenery.
A family-favorite neighborhood of single-family homes near top schools.
Classic Village homes minutes from the river and Coral Cove Park.
Estate-style homes in one of Tequesta's most sought-after pockets.
Intracoastal condominiums with waterfront balconies and big light.

We come to your Tequesta home, measure every window, and show you real basswood samples, no obligation.
Because we mill in Palm City, your shutters are not stuck on a container ship. Local production means shorter lead times.
Josh, George, Terry and our team install everything we build, clean, careful, and precise.
We stand behind our shutters for as long as you own them, with touch-up paint and spare slats included.
Arches, transoms, bays, and floor-to-ceiling glass, all milled to fit instead of forced to a stock size.
Run by Rachel and Tobias and built by a team that has been doing this for decades, right here on the Treasure Coast.
Beautiful product, very professional installation crew. Nothing like real wood shutters. They are a pleasure to deal with.
The people are very professional, they stand by the product, and the shutters are made of wood and not composite. I have shutters all through my house and am very pleased and highly recommend Architectural Plantation.
Our shutters were installed today and we were so pleased we ordered more for other windows. They look beautiful. The installation was fast, clean and done with perfection. Excellent craftsmanship using real wood. Great company!
Tell us a little about your project and we will schedule a free, no-obligation in-home consultation. We will measure your windows, bring real basswood samples, and give you an honest quote, from the family that has been building shutters on the Treasure Coast since 1991.
