Sliding Door Shutters Under an Arched Transom in Stuart, FL
Client Requirements
A Stuart homeowner needed plantation shutters for wide sliding glass doors in a vaulted room, where an arched transom sits above one of the doors. A bedroom slider and a window with its own custom frame were part of the same order. AP Shutters installed the shutters in September 2023.

What We Did?
Sliding door shutters built to the track
We measured the wide sliding glass doors and built bypass panels sized to the door track, so the shutters slide beside the doors without crowding the handles. The arched transom above one door was left uncovered, so the arched glass still brings daylight into the vaulted room. A bedroom window with a custom frame received shutters fitted to its opening.
Planning notes for sliding doors
- Allow space for the panels to stack to one side when the door is in use.
- Check handle and lock clearance before choosing the panel layout.
- An arched transom can be shuttered with a custom arched shutter on request.
