Black Sliding Shutters for a Palm Beach Gardens Bathroom

This Palm Beach Gardens homeowner wanted a sharply modern look in the main bathroom, and the window treatment had to carry it. Blinds and fabric shades were out: they read soft, they collect moisture in a bathroom, and they would have fought the clean lines the room was built around. The requirement was full privacy on demand, plenty of natural light the rest of the day, a finish dark enough to stand as a design element rather than disappear, and a material that would not warp or discolor in constant humidity.

We built floor-to-ceiling sliding plantation shutters in black and hung them on a bypass track across the bathroom window wall. Sliding panels were the right call here because there was no room to swing hinged panels into: they glide past one another instead. Closed, the panels give complete privacy; opened, the louvers still tilt, so the room takes daylight without putting anyone on display. The black finish is a factory-applied coating on a moisture-stable frame, chosen so a bathroom's steam and daily humidity will not swell, peel, or fade it the way a stained wood blind would. Built and installed by our own crew from our Palm City shop, about thirty minutes from Palm Beach Gardens.
