Planning methodology updated September 2026
Home square footage does not determine shutter price by itself. APS prices the measured shutter area and configuration of each opening. The table uses home size only as a planning shortcut so Florida homeowners can establish a realistic starting budget before an in-home measurement.
Each example assumes standard rectangular openings measuring approximately 36 by 60 inches, or 15 square feet of shutter area per opening.
| Approx. home size | Assumed openings | Estimated shutter area | Installed estimate | Average per opening |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 sq. ft. | 8 | 120 sq. ft. | $3,360 | $420 |
| 1,500 sq. ft. | 11 | 165 sq. ft. | $4,620 | $420 |
| 2,000 sq. ft. | 14 | 210 sq. ft. | $5,460 | $390 |
| 2,500 sq. ft. | 17 | 255 sq. ft. | $6,630 | $390 |
| 4,000 sq. ft. | 24 | 360 sq. ft. | $9,360 | $390 |
Planning estimate—not a quote. These examples use a simple 36-by-60-inch rectangular opening and the current APS volume pricing schedule. They exclude specialty shapes, door cutouts, specialty frames, ClearView hidden-tilt upgrades and custom-color charges. Actual homes vary in window count, dimensions and configuration.
Your written quote shows the selected configuration for each opening. Payment timing and any project-specific terms are also presented before an order is approved.

Width and height determine the shutter square footage. Two similar homes can have very different window dimensions.
One-room and whole-home projects fall into different square-footage tiers, which changes the average cost per opening.
Frame profile, sill conditions, louver controls and other selected details can change material and fabrication requirements.
French doors, sliders, arches, circles, angles and oversized openings require individual engineering and are not included in the table.
Standard painted finishes and custom color matching involve different preparation and production steps.
Trim, handles, depth, access and how panels need to open are confirmed during the professional measurement.

The result is more useful than a generic price-per-window number because it reflects the windows and design choices in your home.
See What to ExpectFor the standard whole-home examples on this page, the estimated installed average is approximately $390–$420 per 36-by-60-inch opening. A one-window project prices differently because APS uses total project shutter area; a standalone 15-square-foot opening is approximately $1,125 under the current schedule.
The examples range from about $3,360 for eight standard openings to about $9,360 for 24. Your actual price depends on the number, measured size and configuration of your openings—not home square footage alone.
Yes. The figures above include premium real-wood shutters, professional measurement, standard installation and applicable sales tax.
APS's current base rate per square foot decreases at higher total project square footage. That spreads the fixed work of consultation, setup and installation across more shutter area.
They can. Bypass or bi-fold slider systems, French-door handle cutouts, arches, circles, angles and oversized openings require different materials or engineering. They are measured and quoted individually and are not included in the standard table.
They are a strong fit for homeowners who value architectural appearance, low day-to-day maintenance, adjustable light and privacy, local craftsmanship and a product that can be serviced. The best choice still depends on your opening, budget and priorities.
APS projects are typically installed within two to four weeks after final measurements and specifications are approved. Timing can vary with project scope and selected details.
Schedule a free in-home consultation. APS brings samples, measures each opening, confirms your design choices and provides a written quote. You do not need exact measurements to request the appointment.
