Frequently asked questions:

1) Where do your shutters come from?

We manufacture our shutters from scratch in Palm City, FL with taxpaying American wood workers.
2) Doesn't this make your shutters more expensive than the imports (i.e. Chinese made products)?
No. We buy truckload quantities of materials to reduce our  costs and to offset the higher cost of our skilled labor.  We have a shutter to fit any budget.
3) What are your shutters made of?
We manufacture our shutters out of wood, fiberboard, and  in some cases plastic, depending on our customer's needs and specific applications. But don't be fooled....."Poly", PVC", "Polywood" "Polysatin" are all fancy marketing names for plastic and are inferior to wood. In time, plastic will turn yellow and sag under its own weight. What's the rest of your house made of? Plastic or wood? Plantation shutters are millwork, not lawn furniture. Properly manufactured, wood plantation shutters will not yellow, warp or sag.....ever.
4) What color choices do I have?
While white is certainly the most popular, we can match just about any color you want, and we also offer stained finish wood shutters.
5)  How do I choose a frame style?
Our sales representatives will work with you to determine which frame style works best with your home's existing millwork and of course to coordinate with your decor and tastes.

6) What makes your shutters different (superior)?

We are very different from any other company manufacturing or selling plantation shutters. We build our shutters  differently. Structural corners are made with mortise and tenon construction (think tongue and groove) like fine cabinetry. We offer more options. We don't just offer generics. We offer a custom fit to your specific environment. Frames with casing to match your existing millwork, color matched to your existing millwork. And yes, you do have millwork in your home. Look at the casing around the doors and base moulding along the floor. Shouldn't the millwork in your windows match the rest of the house?

7) Will I have to repaint or replace my shutters in a few years?

Not unless you want to. We give you a lifetime warranty on most shutters. We use a water based environmentally safe paint that will  never fade, yellow or deteriorate like oil based or lacquer based paints.

8) What about the environment?

We make two certifiably green products. One is wood and one is fiberboard. Both are made with wood from forests that have been progressively replanted for the past 80 years on one of the largest wood producing plantations in the Americas. They are then painted using state of the art, water based and environmentally friendly paint.
9) How long does it take to get my shutters?
We normally install/ship our shutters within 4-6 weeks from date of deposit depending upon seasonal workloads.
